EMMA TOPPING

Emma is a highly experienced Entertainment Lawyer with . She trained at Taylor Wessing and upon qualification she joined Freshfields. Emma has worked in-house for market leaders for over 20 years including Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Really Useful Group Ltd, The Walt Disney Company and Penguin Random House.

Emma is not just a lawyer but also an Executive Producer (including of Sony’s PETER RABBIT animated feature franchise and Netflix’s animated adaptation of Brian Jacques REDWALL book series), Producer (films, series and video games), BAFTA member and Founder & CEO of literary and entertainment company VIV LOVES FILM which specialises in book to screen adaptations and world-building IP franchises.

Emma is also an HEA Fellow having co-created MetFilm’s BA (Hons) Film Business & Production Degree that she teaches at the Brighton campus.

Emma’s outlook is global, across all of the creative industries (including screen, video games, consumer products, publishing, stage and experiential) and from all perspectives: as IP owner, licensor, agent, licensee, financier, distributor, production company and creative.
